The emergency aid, fire marshal anddrivers’ hours Level 3 are CPD certified they can be used towards DCPC hours. These courses are fully interactive with industry experienced trainers who will ensure students fully understand their legal obligations through both practical and written examination. Once completed a CPD certificate will be issued.

This course will cover necessary parts of the role of a first aider, including

  • CPR
  • Use of defibrillator
  • The recovery position

  1. Security of Dangerous Goods (Management)

This course will cover

  • Carry out a fire risk assessment of the premises and review it regularly.
  • Tell staff of their representatives about the risk identified.
  • Put in place, and maintain, appropriate fire safety measures
  • Plan for an emergency
  • Provide staff information, fire safety instruction and training.

  1. Drivers Hours& Tachographs Level 3

Drivers have a licence, proving they have passed a test confirming that they can drive a vehicle to an approved standard, but there isn’t a qualification to prove that they understand the complicated Drivers Hours and Tachograph Regulations.

Passing this exam proves the candidate does have a good understanding (Level 3) of the Drivers Hours and Tachograph rules. This can be beneficial for drivers seeking employment, operators displaying a higher level of training to their clients or operators displaying conformation to authorities.

Dangerous Goods Consignor

The Dangerous Goods Consignor course is specifically designed to train personnel who are involved in the consignment and forwarding of dangerous goods. This applies to such personnel who are employed by the road vehicle operator or the consignor, personnel who load or unload dangerous goods, personnel in freight forwarding agencies and drivers of vehicles.

It is our aim for this course that all who attend will be proficient in ascertaining that dangerous goods are classified and authorised for carriage in accordance with ADR.

Security of Dangerous Goods

As well as being a requirement for personnel, those of us involved with dangerous goods have a greater responsibility than most to apply security and prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.

As such, this course is designed for everybody involved in the industry, from managers, supervisors and other decision makers, to drivers and operational staff.

This course can take place in the classroom or remotely, and covers all of the essential aspects of security involved in the carriage, operation and storage of these items, such as:

DCPC

Drivers both LGV & PSV should remain up-to-date with the latest road policies. Among various organisations providing transport training, Pedley Training Solutions (PTS) is delivering quality training services to professional drivers.
At PTS, we provide several transport training courses including DCPC (Driver Certificate of Professional Competence). It is a training programme for all professional drivers, designed specifically to improve bus and lorry drivers’ knowledge and skills throughout their working life. The Government has made this training mandatory for all new and existing PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicles) and LGV (Large Goods Vehicle) drivers. This training was introduced aiming to improve and maintain high standards of driving and road safety. DCPC training means that drivers now not only require a licence but also a Drivers Certificate of Professional Competence (DCPC) that is renewable every 5 years.
We offer a variety of DCPC training programmes across the UK, provided by our own team of industry experts led by Kim Pedley. With experience within the transport industry of more than 35 years, Kim Pedley has been able to build up a reputation as a trainer who is well-versed in working alongside and helping to develop drivers. Our training courses are certified and audited by the JAUPT (Joint Approvals Unit for Periodic Training). We offer range of JAUPT approved and an accredited course syllabus covering the LGV and PSV elements of the Driver CPC.

ADR Goods Training

With a variety of driving jobs comes the responsibility of requiring to move and transport dangerous products and goods. ADR is the term that relates to the European Agreement governing the international transportation of dangerous products through road. It is an agreement between most of the European countries. In order to be able to transport dangerous goods by road you would need a valid VTC ADR certificate once you have attended a training course and successfully completed a set of examinations in a course approved by the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA).
